oil change light will not reset

My daughter is off to college. She had her oil changed and then the change oil light on the dash came on. The trouble is she can not reset it according to the owners manuel. which tells her to turn on the key the hold the trip button down until it goes out. This has not been working. anyone have a suggestion. Thanks

what year grand am? On the 99+ the reset button is located in the driverside fuse panel.

Ignition key ON , Engine NOT running. Try pumping gas pedal 3 times when the light is on.
