97 4X4 Jimmy

i have the NP233 4wd and when i push the 4hi it sounds like it engages but when i began to accellerate the front wheels dont pull and all i get is a clicking noise. Help!!

If the front end is engageing, check your c.v. joints/front axle shafts and make sure they are not damaged or worn.
