99 buick lesabre has vacuum actuated "electronic" temp control. Air will only blow out floor and defrost. I do not know how to fix this. Any advice?

I am having the same problem. The Ac will only blow out of driver side vents and not passengers, and it also blows out of the floor when it shouldnt be. The heat come out of the floor like normal, and defrost like normal. We may be having the same type of problem. Mine is a 1997 lesabre.

I tried to post a link to another thread but was not successful so I sent you a shortcut via email. If this doesn't solve your problem, search the LeSabre thread for similar issues. Appeared to be a lot of prior posts.

You need to check all of the vacuum fittings under the hood as the door control is still vacuum actuated even tho its an electronic system..

If you have vacuum to change from defrost (no vacuum needed) to floor (vacuum needed for one diaphragm, you probably have vacuum from the motor.

This is what I did for mine after troubleshooting the diaphragms to be sure one wasn't torn.

I replaced the plastic connector with 1/8 inch internal gas line (free from the good guys at NAPA since I only needed about 6 inches--it was in their scrap box). Little rubber pieces about 1.5 inches long. make a note of the inner color and out color at each connector before clipping out the whole thing. It sits in the corner of the programmer box.

The programmer box is under the passenger side. Take off the hush panel about their legs. Take off the 6 or 7 screws holding the glovebox on. Lots more room to work. The programmer is held on by two screws. The plastic cube sits in the corner of the box and the lid of the box snaps off with clips on the sides.

The little black rubber nipples inside the connector seem to suck closed with vacuum after the plastic ages and softens.
