I was wondering if anyone had tried this product and if it worked for them?

I've never used it but I tend to think there must be some drawback to using it. A lot of shady used car lots buy it.

I was thinking the same way. I'm not sure yet if my head gasket is blown but if it is I will probably try this. I understand it will most likely not be a long term fix but hopefully it would help me buy some time to get some money saved up for another vehicle. If anyone has tried this please let me know.

I haven't tried Blue Devil, but I have used Bar's Head Gasket Fix in a 2001 Passport 3.2L that had a head gasket blown so bad, the antifreeze was literally dripping out of the tail pipe.
I put a bottle of Bar's in the radiator per the directions, and the consumption of antifreeze immediately began to decline. I left it in for two weeks, and the loss of antifreeze stopped completely. When I started, it smelled to high heaven and the white vapor just rolled out the tail pipe. After two weeks of using Bar's, the smoking stopped completely and there was no odor of glycol what so ever out the tail pipe. I eventually drained it all out & replaced with plain antifreeze. So far, pressure is good (whereas before it wouldn't build coolant system pressure at all), no overheating, and no indication of plugging of heater core.
I agree with others that a blown head gasket or cracked head should be properly repaired. But I can say this sodium silicate head gasket fix can work, at least in the short term.
Also with the Bar's (unlike Blue Devil) you simply mix it in with the normal antifreeze charge. No need to drain the system first & use plain water with the stop leak.
Again, I don't recommend it, but I can sure testify that it works! For how long - we'll see. If it saves me from a $1200 repair for at least 6 months, I'll not complain.

I haven't used Bar's Leak but I don't trust anything that looks like "gunk" even before I put it in. It was pretty cheap in comparison to the Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealant sitting next to it. The Blue Devil almost looked like washer fluid which made me feel like I had a better chance of it NOT gooing up. It also had a money back guarantee so I had nothing to lose. I followed the directions-- I even poured it slower than the recommended 1 minute for the bottle. After the 50 minute installation I took it for a 20 mile test drive. The longer I drove, the better it got. I even left it in overnight (I live in the south). The next day it was humming. Knock on wood, I have had this luck for 2 years with the product.
