97 Jimmy trans slipping

I decided to do my filter and new fluid after the tranny seemed to start slipping in and out of OD while driving (rpm fluctuation) and manually shifted to 3rd and seemed fine. Problem is after I changed fluid and filter it's 10 times worse. On test drive I lost 2nd and 3rd intermittently and limped it home. What did I do wrong? I may have not got the filter pipe seated far enough up in the hole is all I can figure. Additional note...It has always done a bit of slipping in a right turn.

15$ change cost a good 25 to fix.. that sucks...

did you ensure you have enough fluid to make up for the filter?

half a quart will fry a auto trans in a few hundred miles of stop and go with a topping of highway.

make certain you accounted for the fluid loss of replacing the filter.

'you're lucky my car isn't equip with a filter i must remove the pan and do it that way >.> silly auto makers....
