YOUR PRIDE AND JOY!!!
I was just wondering what all the couch potatos got under their hood, er.. in their living rooms :D
My dad's into all the tech. gizmos and stuff, so he like all the new electronics and stuff. Our 2 best TVs are probably the 40'' Sony Wega, it's not a projection, it's a 40'' digital flat screen! Also the monster 61'' digital Hitachi HDTV..... pure Super Bowl :D :D
There's also DVD players on those, Satellite, surround sound and this TiVo type thing, it's this thing where you can digitally record stuff without any tape, you can also pause live TV and skip commercials, stuff like that. I don't even know how to use 1/2 the stuff, lol :D :D
No man can live without his LA-Z-BOY!!

My main TV is a 32" Sony trinitron flat screen. That bastard is heavy as hell. I then have a Sony VCR :bloated: player, and for the DVD player, I have a PS2 :) The sound comes from a Sony setup as well. With reciever, disc changer, tape player :bloated: and EQ. The speakers are a tower setup with 2 8" subs, 6's and 4's. I have not yet got into the surround sound thing.
Then, in the bedroom, I have a shitty 19" TV, with the sweet non-stereo sound setup. :)
Your poll sucks btw. What are we voting on?

sounds like a pretty sweet setup! I love the sony flatscreens, the picture quality is amazing! Our surround sound isn't anything extravagent (sp) it's just one of those Bose systems, with those little cube speakers... it sounds pretty damn good though, and there's a sub with it, i don't know what the power rating on it is though, and there's somethin that comes with the Bose sound system that looks like an amp, there's like a CD player in it. i think it's 5 channel or 5.1 dolby, not sure cause there are 5 speakers (in groups of 2 cubes) and a sub. I think that's 5.1
I'd want a Sony sound system instead :)
The question on the poll is how many TVs do you own?

Read the title, dimtwit....:D:D
Those Bose acoustamass surround sound sets are some of the best you can get. I have the Cambridge Soundworks (Mr. Cambridge invented the things for Bose, but didn't like their management or something, and left and made his own company that produces the exact same thing for a lower price) version of the same thing hooked up to my computer....which has become my stereo here at college. In my rented room here I just have a 25(?)" TV, hooked up to my PS2 (which doubles as a DVD player). But I download most of my movies and watch them on my dual monitors...

Yep, that's where I got mine too. The 4 speakers + sub. They don't sound as good as your Bose because of 6 less speakers, most likely...Bose are overpriced though...

Same here. My dad got his big TV almost a year ago now, we got a Sony 53' Projection and Huge-Ass Reciever and this $7000 sound sytem (My dad likes his toons) we don't have a nice unit to hold everything (I'm bugging my dad) So we got a semi-homethetre in the basement but no wall unit.

LOL, We orginally got some crap thing for like $500-1000 (Surround) Then one day my dad came home with a carload of speakers. we have two 4.5 ft, Main Speakers, a center one on the TV, a 2 Ft (Diameter Sub) and two rear speakers that project in three directions. It's really nice, I'ts made out of Polished Cherry Wood, and yes, when He turns it up the Neighbours complain and it shakes things in my Bedroom two floor overhead, it's really too much sound. I don't know why he isn't deaf yet.

ya, it's actually closer to a little to about 1.3 but that's just my estimate, cause 2 is massive, but 1 ain't THAT grand, Once at about half-volume or less, I put my head close to, it shook my hair and I had put a Lego man on top of it who was bouncing around will every "boooooom" Subs are awesome. It is also 2 ft long so it's basically this huge black box besdie my TV.

Ours is all built into the ceiling and our sub is freakin' huge. We have a huge HDTV (cant remember the exact size -- over 60") and all the goodies like DVD ..
My parents buy the most expensive stuff and are planning on upgrading all the stuff they have now when they move into new house.

AHHH you have jumped into an area I like & am always studying up on!
While there is a popular theme going on by all manufatureres to buy a whole soround system in a box excluding BOSE & Cambridge!
Those systems in the box are nice but there are somethings in those packeges that are very limiting! They sound very good to an untrained ear!
Not that we are at the age of bi-pollar Tri-pollar & 7.1 suround fields much of these systems are evolving & 2002-2005 will bring out some systems you wouls swear you were in that battlefield!
Bose system I am planing to put this in my Family room for the easy small cubes & the units with it sleek brushed aluminum looks just like a low profile amp with prices from $1,299.00- $4,000.00. A little pricey!
Well there are some alternatives for bringing the price down but by not much! Karmharden,Marantz & some other high end units expect to pay in the high 800(low end) to 8,000(High End) for a head unit!
Some of the new TV HDTV's coming out a little patience is a lot of money in the pocket saved, next year prices will be coming down on these units along with receivers & speakers so wait a while! U woun't be disapionted!

I was wondering if anybody else had the TiVO type system? I explained before, where you can pause live TV and more.... you guys have heard of it right?
if you go to tivo.com i think there's like an interactive demo or somethin, if you don't know what it is
it's cool cause say you're watching basketball or hockey or somethin, and there was a sweet play, you can rewind then watch it in slow motion or whatever... you never miss anything
truely a tool for couch potatos :D :D hehe
