No start - No Spark

I working on 2007 Galant for my Sister. She parked it at the store on Saturday then when got back in to leave it would not start. Checked, have fuel but no spark. No codes in system. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

2.4 or 3.0? Have you checked fuses?

Is 2.4L and all fuses are good.

Are you able to check for codes? There could be several things that are wrong here. Depending on the mileage: Crank or cam sensor gone bad/damaged and timing belt broken are the two that would be high on the list. A timing belt check is relatively easy, the upper cover has like 3-4 bolts holding it on and you can take it off. If it is broken it will be pretty obvious.

There are no codes in the computer. The car has about 60,000 miles. The timing belt is good, checked by removing oil fill cap and watching rockers move while cranking the engine.
The remote built into the key did come apart, but I was still able to get the remote part to lock and unlock the doors and the engine cranks fine so the security should not be engaged.
