I have a 03 grand am. While in neutral, i have no roar so i dont think its the engine. I take off and its just a loud noise sounds like its coming from the front of the car. I had a problem with a cavalier i had before being the wheel hub, so i was wondering if this was the problem. Only thing is when that was the problem, the car would have a vibration to it once i hit certain speeds, and this isnt the case on my grand am. Could it be the tires?

I suspect it is a bearing. I am assuming that you hear this while moving. If it is front wheel bearing if you turn the wheel slightly to one side and then the other if a front bearing is bad you should hear the noise increase or decrease.

Is it a roar that sounds like road noise and does the roar get louder as you increase speed? Then it could be the tires or a wheel bearing. Rotate your tires and see if there's any change.

it sounds more like a hum than a roar, but it starts around 35-40 and on up it sounds the same. When i had a bad wheel bearing, the car didnt sound the same as this one does. When i had the bad wheel bearing before around 75mph it would shake bad but now in this car i will drive around that speed and its about the same. To help with the noise, it sounds like driving on the interstate and driving on the part on the shoulder that is suppose to keep you awake(im guessing that ya'lls interstates have the same as ours). Its about the same sound, but no vibration.
