I have a 92 SE and when I put the car in "D" it automatically locks the door but when I put it back into "P" it will not unlock them. What is causing the problem???

That function was in like only 2 yrs of GM N cars-- the answer is to pull the fuse in the fuse panel-- or perhaps to put one in the spot labeled auto lock or something like that- Its been about 10 years since I did one-- but there is an answer-- seen it on a Skylark-- really a big PITA when doors don't unlock....

It's actualy the lock relay but Im pretty sure its for both or there are two right next to each other.
From the drivers side front seat, just behind dash panel, mounted on passenger side of steering column.

Also their is a procedure to change the lock-unlock setup, but I dont remember the steps it's been so long. It is writen in the car booklet thats in the glove box if you have that.

Good luck and I hope that helps.
