PCV Valve...

There MAY be a LOT less to my "oil burning" situation...I know someone mentioned it before about making sure i use a DELCO PCV valve..and sure enough i found out the one i installed many months ago is not! And many months ago just so happens to be the time i noticed i was burning oil lol! I know my old PCV was still working but replaced it anyway for some reason, but luckily i kept it so i'll have to find it and see if that works. I'm really gunna be kicking myself if that was it. Then i don't have a good excuse to mod/rebuild/replace the engine :-( not that i have the money anyway. As you guys know i've been running in circles finding out why the hell it does this so i'll keep you all posted and hopefully have a result in about 5 hours when i get home.

That'd be good if it works, but I've been using Autozone PCV valves since the late 80s with no ill effects.

Yeah it may still not be that good..And one more important thing to note. When i did the compression test, i noticed all of the spark plugs had a whitish-very light tan color. I heard this is good right? I guess this means i'm not burning a whole lot of oil, only when i idle like i said, which i now try not to do as much as I can. I would assume this means it COULD be the PCV because it can't "keep up" at idle but can at higher RPM. Like i said i'll post an update later today.

when blow by crankcase gases get injested into the intake by way of the crankcase vent/ PVC this is usually the light brown deposits on the plugs..If you had bad oil rings you would see the black/oil residue.

when the compression rings are worn or stuck you get the blowby condition like your symptoms are..

the pcv I get only the a/c delco..had trouble a long time ago..forget where I got it or who made it...getting harder to get good parts..

I said it before "make sure the crankcase vent system is working correctly"
