Engine Block swap B17A2 and B17A1

I have 2002 Civic Ex with a D17A2 engine VTEC. My problem is the engine over heated ( bubble was release from radiator) I pull the head and have machine shop check the head for leak and shave. After all these work I end up with the same problem.I think the cylinder is crack or other problem? I can get a low mileage engine D17A1 none VTEC from Craigs list for cheap . Can I use a D17A1 block and Switch the VTEC head.
