twin overhead cam cover having trouble need help

trying to get the covers off the cams to see if there is damage to cam shaft can someone tell me is there a trick on getting them off i dont wont to brake them thank you

What year and engine exactly ?

Should just be the several bolts holding it down. Probly just the gaskets holding it down.
Might try tappin it with a deadblow hammer or something. I wouldnt beat on it to hard, that could crack the cover.
