Water In Trunk

Hi Ive been getting water in my trunk some how. And I was wondering how it could be getting in there. Here are the details. There are no signs of Leaking in the Weather stripping and no rust holes in the floor board nor the surrounding body panels. And when the car has been running And I open up the trunk the water evaporates and the floor board is warm to the touch. If anyone has any leads to this minor problem but one that severly bugs me. Please let me know

Open the trunk and pull the cardboard away from where it covers the wheel wells. My bet is that you have a rust hole or two at the top of one of the wells.

check you wheel wells. i had the same problem. but i had a river in my car. and it was a small hole. inside the upper wheel well.. bondo works great!

i used to have a 92' olds 88 as well... and had the same problem. odds are you have a hole in your wheel well. to solve this i just spray some expanding foam from the inside and drill a tiny hole in the bottom of the trunk to allow it to drain... DISCLAIMER: BE CAREful not to drill into your gas tank or any fuel lines. this could lead to a loss in fuel pressure (duh).:lol2: as for it being warm... my guess is that the warmth is coming from the fuel pump. i don't believe you have to worry about this as the pump is cooled sufficiently by the fuel in the system

had same problem on 95 88 passenger rear wheel well was rusted out.only leaked when driven in the rain. i repaired it with galv. sheet metal,silicone and rivets. no more leak

My 1996 LSS had water in trunk, problem was the rear tail light stud had broken off the lamp causing the seal around the light to leak into the trunk. The stud has the plastic wingnut that holds the cargo net. Check that out, could be either right or left tail lamp. I used RTV around the seal and that was that.
