01 GP GT removing shift knob

feels like plastic inside shift knob is broken and button does not work to put car into park. Any ideas on how to remove the shift knob to fix this problem?

The shift knob is easy but getting to the shifter assembly is a different story for your issue. On the back of the knob (dash side) is a clip that looks like a big staple. Just use a small flat blade screwdriver to remove it.
