03 Cobra vs 03 Viper

Battle of the snakes :devil:. Both were probably stock so you can guess who won. Still a pretty cool race to come by though.

Good race the cobra had a good launch and pickup through 1st and 2nd but you just cant hold off the all power full Viper:hehe:

The Cobra held him off for longer than I thought he would. What were the final ETs?

I dunno he held him probably like half a second after the launch it just looked like the Viper pulled hard. Anyways what I think I saw was a 12.2@117mph and a 13.0@111mph. It'm pretty certain about the 1/4 mile times but the mph could be off its really hard to make out. They didn't do a very good job of showing that part.

I see a 13.6 for the Cobra and a 12.2 for the Viper...

Could be wrong.... just what I see. :)

Yea, the cobra coulda done 13 flat easy....but 12.2 damn thats pretty impressive. And that viper probably coulda hit elevens if he had drag slicks and a good run.

Wasn't there a video of a new viper that was "bone stock" running high 11's on that site?

It looked like the Cobra either jumped the gun or the viper had a bad reaction time. Plus the fact the cobra actually heated his tires up compared to the viper doing a halfassed burnout has a big factor on grip for the launch.

i saw the same thing. Looks like the new cobra is a 13 sec car with ocasional drops in 12 sec teritory. So i guess its not a surprise that the viper beat it since 12's are more normal for it.

it really seemed that the viper pulled hard towards the end most likelly better top end power than the cobra.

12.27 to a 13.61...of course the Cobra had a much better reaction time...Also, I know that Drag Strip it's like 20 min. from my house. Supposedly they repaved the first 1/8th mile this year. (I haven't been yet). Before though it was kinda crappy and really hard to pull good times.

What kind of Viper was that, I couldn't really tell. Was that an RT-10 or an SRT-10?

SRT-10, both cars were brand new.

They have another video on that website of a Black SRT-10 doing 11's but I don't know if its the same one.

Remind me not to challenge any new Viper owners :bloated:

Its better to get them when they are new and before they know how to handle the beast the just bought.

I know the Viper is a high MPH car but I wish someone would put some 4.10's in the rearend, Then we'll see a launch.:jumpie:
