Hey guys. Ok im am looking to buy a 2000' F-250 V8 triton but it has 178,000 miles and im not liking this. I currently own a 2004' Toyota Seqoiya V8 i-force which has much lower milage. So my question is would it be possible to swap the toyota engine into the truck? anything helps and thank you.

Welcome to AF.

It would be a major, major project to do this swap. Nothing on the Ford would accomodate the Toyota engine... so this means the Toyota transmission and entire wiring harness, along with all engine control electronics would need to be swapped.

You would need the engineering expertise of NASA to get the Toyota wiring harness to interact with the Ford dashboard and controls; to make a custom exhaust, air intake, engine mounts, cooling system and driveshaft; get the A/C, P/S and alternator to work etc etc.

In short, you could pay to rebuild the Ford engine 5 times over with the expense related to do this swap.

If the Toyota is expendable, or just good for parts, sell it and put the money towards rebuilding the Ford engine.

Put the Ford engine in and you will waste time putting the toyota engine in.The triton engine at least takes a month to rebuild and the parts are not cheap.Price a reman engine also.It is sometimes cheaper to put in a reman avoiding the remans from the auto parts stores than rebuilding the old engine.Price the parts, machine work needed to be done and a new crank if it is needed. The advantage with a good reman engine is that you get a better warranty,3 year warranty over a year or two year warranty on a rebuilt engine.Jasper is the best choice with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty and they stand behind their work. One problem with getting an engine rebuilt is someone standing behind their work. Some will not stand behind their work and blame it on you
