Do you have to pull the engine out to change the torque converter solenoid in a transmission? The car is a 1990 buick century v6 automatic. Can you do it without taking everything out? How do you do it?

No. The shift solenoids in that car are on the valve body which is inside the transmission oil pan. Drop the pan, drain the fluid, change the solenoid, refill, have a nice day
