end of the espirit ????????

who watches top gear they said somthing about the car coming to an end and i need to know why

2002 was the last year the car was being produced.

Lotus believed that the Esprit design lived long enough and needed and update. But Yes, for now, the Esprit is over and done with. We will miss it verrrrrrrry much. But there is soon to come a better and faster replacement

The Esprit is finished- which really means Lotus in the US is finished until they can scrape together a replacement- unlikely- thanks to Lotus' bad financial times :(

the elise is on its way....but hopefully a replacement will soon follow for the esprit..but the elise might boost the sales for lotus

Yes, the elise is making Lotus quite alot of money. Which is good. I was hoping the M250 would replace the Esprit; i mean, it has a V6 with 250hp. The lotus esprit started with a 4 cylinder, only recently getting a V8.

I believe the general idea was to make a new Esprit, but money has run out. It also seems that money has run out for the M250.

Too bad, because then the Lotus line would be full; Elise being the cheap one, M250 being the expensive sportscar, and the Esprit being the supercar.
