I need to replace the pads and rotors on the rear of my 2002 3/4 ton Suburban. I have done front disk brakes before but not rear disk brakes. What has me concerned is the parking brake. Is this a difficult job or pretty straight forward?

this is not difficult,,,if you can do the fronts the rears are not much harder...the park brakes on your vehicle most likely just need cleaning and adjustment...
un like my 1500 silverado with the defective design...

Check the slides if they are froze up and it is a common problem. If the slides are badly froze right up,get loaded calipers.Another part to check on the rotors are the fins,if the are rusted up badly. If you see this, pitch them and get new rotors. You will have further problems down the road with warped rotors.

That is my problem now, warped rotors. The truck shudders when stopping. I thought it was the front brakes because the steering wheel sometimes shakes when stopping. The dealer says the front is good, the rear is bad. I'll probably do both but not at the same time.
