Another 1/16 build from me - this time it's the MPC Trophy Series '57 Corvette. I did start a WIP a while ago but let it die due to lack of interest.
This proved to be an awkward kit with many fitting issues that had me nearly throwing it in the bin more than once.
Hope you like it.

The dashboard was very rudimentary and no decals were supplied. The instrument bezels are turned alloy tubing, gauge faces downloaded from net.

The screen surround as supplied is far too big and won't match up with the trims on the side windows. Just about right now but I had to cut nearly 4mm out of the surround and make a new screen.

Soft top doesn't fit quite so well but looks nicer from the back............

....lights operate by lifting the steering column stalk which turns a cam behind the dash onto a switch made from two brass strips - batteries are in the spare wheel well.
Thanks for looking.

Fantastic work as always, Martin
The finish is super and your detailing is your strong point. I wouldn't worry too much about the fit of the roof because it would be a crime to cover that interior up anyway :D
The tires look a bit shiny and artificial in the photos but otherwise super.
I sure am sad I missed your WIP! :( I'd love to have seen more about how you rigged up the lighting :)

Great result from what I am sure was not a great kit in terms of parts fit especially and everything will have been magnified in that scale! Well done!

Killer car and build. I've stopped buying new kits, but one of these has to be in my future somewhere...

I'd love to get something like this. The lights are pretty cool too.
