My CRD 2.7 died off while driiving and did now crack at all. The key symbol in the upper right hand corner of the instrument panel stays on when the key is turned to ingition position.
Had a loose negative batter cable and the battery voltage is 11.97.
I assume that the loose cable somehow activated the anti-theft system, and I will first charge the battery and hook the cable good.
But what after that? How do I reset the system?

I guess so, and I am not sure if the security on the 2.7 diesel is at all built the same as with other Jeeps, as this has the MB engine (and motor electronics, at least to the most part).
Seems like there may be a cam pos sensor broken, but at least with MB 2.7 dci the starter should still crank, they say at MB.
I think I should try some German Jeep forum since the car is quite common there.

the car should crank but not start(at least on gas engines) when there is a security problem. the voltage is low. put the batteries(battery) on a charger, check all connections and attempt to start it. check voltage with car on(if it starts) if its below 14volts its a bad alternator.
