Welcome to the forum!

Which driver's side lamp assembly? Headlamp, parking lamp, tail lamp, etc?

If it is anything like a sedan, you'll need to take off the paneling on that side inside the back area and you'll see the nuts holding the tail light assembly to the vehicle. It can be a PIA to do. It requires a 10mm deep well socket to get some of the nuts off, then housing comes away. You'll have to disconnect the plugs that connect to the light sockets. Good luck.

It is not like the sedan. There does not seem to be any access to the tail light assembly from inside the vehicle. On the drivers side there is a spare tire housing that is lined by welded sheet metal and no access to the relase the light assembly.

There are push pins holding it that may make it feel like it's still attached. From the factory service manual:

Removal

1. Open liftgate (40010).

2. Remove two screws from rear lamp.

3. Pull front section of rear lamp away from vehicle to disengage pushpin retainer.

4. Push rear lamp rearward away from vehicle.

5. Lift tabs on park lamp connectors and pull connectors away from parking lamp socket and wiring.
