:banghead: I have a 1991 S-10 4.3 blazer and it was running fine until the throttle body had been taken off cleaned and replaced. after that it started to idle either real high or real low. Since then Iv'e changed the throttle body 3 times and none of the seem to work. The code reader gave me a code 22 and which means low voltage to the throttle position sensor. I replaced the sensor twice and the truck will start for a bout a minute and cut off. I really need to kno how to fix this problem I start school in a couple weeks and thats my only way back. :banghead: :banghead::crying:

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Did you put on a new gasket when you replaced the throttle body?

Take an unlit propane torch and, with the engine running, move it around. When the engine speeds up, you've found your leak.

Alright I've done all that and now i have one more problem. The ecm is shooting a code 12 which means either the ecm or distribtor is not responding correctly. I know the reason is the ECM because it had been tampered with and reading the repair manual has taught me that this is a real sensitve procedure. The PROM and CALPAK were both removed and tryd on the truck in a different module. i just read that section on the manual and it says that those parts are vehicle specific. im afraid the either the ECM as a whole, PROM or the CALPAK may be damaged. WHAT TO DO??????:banghead::banghead:

Code 12 means the ECM is talking to the OBD port. That's it. You'll always get Code 12 - before the real codes and after them, should there be any.

The truck wont start its seems as though its not getting any gas. The chips had been tampered with do you think that may be the cause.

ok, if you think there is no fuel, can you hear the fuel pump engage for 2 seconds or so when you turn key to on?
do you have a (fuel) pressure tester?
did you check for spark(all cylinders?)
When you were getting it to start for a minute or so was it running really rough, or just incorrect idle
and if you take of the air cleaner housing you should be able to see the injector on the TBI, and it should spit some fuel when cranking.

I've done all of that and it still wont start. Now as I previously stated the ECM had messed with: the CALPAK and the PROM had been taken out, put into another ECM and tried; that obviously didn't work so i replaced them back into the original ECM and now the engine just turns, its not getting gas. I pour a small amount into the throttle and it fires for a split second the shut off. Now could this be product of damaged PROM or CALPAK. The ECM keeps shooting just code 12 but it wont stay cranked long enough to give me any other codes. If it may be the ECM then is there anyway it could be reprogrammed or the chips be replaced. ?????????????
