replacing the transmission in 2000 monte carlo ls.Need to know if I need an RLB or RDB transmission.What happens if they are one or the other?

Real easy... look at the underside of the trunklid. There is a sticker that says which transmission was installed in your car from the factory.
For the most part, they are all the same basic transmission - a 4T65E, but there might be some difference in tuning depending on whether or not you had a 3.1 or 3.8 engine

I put a RLB in my 2000 Monte Carlo LS with the 3.4. It had the RLD transmission from the factory. So far, the RLB works great. No codes and shifts great.
