2000 Grand Am SE 2.4 Miss @ 1800rpms

I have a 2000 Grand Am SE, with a 2.4 4cyl. What I get is a buck or miss when driving between the 1800 and 2400 rpm range. If I back off the pedal a bit and let it dip to 1500 rpms...I'm fine. If I gun it, and jump to, say, 3000 rpm's, I'm fine. Any ideas? Thanks for listening and possibly assisting.

There are no codes and the check engine light is off, but comes on intermittently when it is damp out. Thank you so much for the reply. I appreciate it and will try the TPS and get back to the forum. :smokin:

I did the TPS check and mine is fine. I'll try the 02 sensor next. I also heard that is can be the torque convertor. I'm really baffled. :screwy: I'll repeat exactly what is happening.

I am cruising to work effortlessly. Car actually runs great. If I go to accelerate/pass/etc. and the rpm's are between 1800 and 2200, it breaks up and bucks. I can ease off of the pedal abit or accelerate even more my epressing the pedal more and all is fine. Regardless of speed, it happens only between those rpms. Thanx again for the help, it is very appreciated.
