so i need a windshield now

i was wondering will the new windshield be just like the stock 1 one with the chrome strip in the seal/molding ? if its a windshield for a towncar do they all come like that (with the chrome strip in the molding) ? this body shop by me has 1 for 40 bucks brand new but its boxed up (sealed) and they can't confirm that it has the chrome in the molding.yes it matters to me . how do i know if its the right windshield? if i want one exactly like the original do i gotta go to the dealer ? i know if i gotta go to the dealer or another spot they're gonna clean me out lol

When I had my windshield replaced, they told me that the molding comes with the new seal along with the wind shield. If they cant open a box, I would question their motives.

thanks, just got the windshield today. it was brand new in the box, guy cracked the box right open, stock windshield from ford, perfect, exact same windshield to a t. it was a deal and a half for 40. prolly gonna have it put in tomorrow. finally picked a color for my car (gettin it painted :) ) going with the stock light cypress, but with a whole bunch of gold ice pearl and about 10 coats of clear :) it'll be sweet

yup, as soon as it rolls out of the booth :) . prolly won't have it done for another month or 2, got the paint, the clear, and the pearl, now i just gotta take that and the car to my paint man - unfortunately he's about 5 states away so i'm gonna make a trip out of it, supposed to leave the 17th. any suggestions/ expertise on my other thread? its a couple spots under this :)

Just to let you know, if you are going to make your car look brand new, I have a Ebay listing right now for the rear Opera Glass Windows, these had the Canvas top covering them and only 23k on the car so they are brand new condition no sunlight was bearing down on them for 15 years. There are no dry rot spots on there at all. Here is the item number... 320418413238

i'll check it out, my opera glass is actually pretty clean though along with the door glass all around. only thing i had to get for that is the rubber moldings w chrome that go around the window openings, which wasn't cheap :( .

opera glass molding is good too, i was actually checking the molding out around em and i couldn't find a knick in the rubber like the other moldings. only other parts i'm trying to find is some chrome rocker trim, a new moonroof "c channel" rubber seal that goes around the headliner for the moon roof opening.

other than that and cleaning things up under the hood, the interiors getting re upholstered ( stock, fresh leather)
