2000 Ford Taurus stearing wheel squeaks

Have a 2000 ford taurus and when i turn the stearing wheel to the left it starts squeaking. or better yet, kind of kind of like when you squeeze a balloon. it makes that noise. also, when you turn the wheels to the left over on the passenger side front wheel it makes a kind of tapping noise. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Does the squeak appear to come from inside the cabin, or from outside the car? If outside, this sounds consistent with dry ball joints or outer tie rod ends. I've posted before on how to diagnose such a sound from the front steering, try searching the forum for keyword "lithium."
