where do you hook to the computer to find a code. Check engine light is on and can't find the port to hook up and get the code.2000 ford focus se wagon.

Get a flashlight. The car companies are required by law to put the jack for the OBDII scanner within 2 feet of the steering column. Usually it is close to the lower part of the dash to the left of the steering column.

Thanks for the info, but i'm still having trouble finding it. I maybe just overlooking it. I brought it to autozone and they could'nt find it either.

The only other place they might have put it is behind the ashtray. Check that.

thanks I think thats the only place I have'nt looked. My wife asked the machanic shop were we had it once before but they wouldn't tell, I guess they wanted to charge us another 100 bucks,... not going to happen. Thanks again.
