Si tranny identification

ok i was told that the serial # on the tranny doesnt mean $hit but that there is some sort of marking on the casing near the drain plug?? does anyone know to tell if the tranny is a SI or not??? i really need to know

Si Tranny is PL3/3000 cast into the casing just above the fill plug.

got this info from www.d16a.com under ef tech and then l3 trannies.
