hi modeling friends.
Do you know the feeling when completing a model, puting it in a display case and aligning it with the other finished models? I mean it's fun to biuld it, but somehow it not very satisfying just puting it in a displaycase or on a shelf to the others.
So my idea was to build a diorama, where i can "play around" and enjoy a bit more the completed models. Most of my biult models are japanese cars, so the theme of the diorama was quite obvious. A piece of mountain road where some cars can race against each other. After doing some research on google earth and the internet got a lot of nice insipartion and started modeling.
And this is the finished product:

Looks great. Even though the background image is offset slightly, it's still quite effective. Where did you manage to get those drivers from? They look more modern than the ones I've seen.

Thanks Kev! The Offset you mentioned is a matter of the perspective. When you look from the front the lines on the street are good aligned. But when you change your perpective, the perspective on the background picture won't change. Thats were the offset comes from.
Those drivers are from the Fujimi Drivers & Mechanics set.

Very effective
I have been wondering for some time if it woudl be possible to make a diorama with a photographic background and now you have shown me that it can be done - thanks!

Awesome effort! Your diarama looks so realistic. If I'm ever on the Yabitsu Pass I'll be sure to keep an eye out for these two knuckleheads:screwy:!!!
