I have read several postings about what spark plugs not to use on the Chevy Venture. However no one ever said anything about using the Iridium plusgs from AC Delco. any ideas or suggestions?

Be careful when replacing plugs in that you do not install ones that have a very long threaded end.
If the wrong ones, they will make contact with the pistons.
Go by what your owners manual calls for, there may be an alternative plug you can use safely.
My Haynes manual says you can use AC type41-940 platinum, or equivalent @0.060 gap.
Apply an anti-seize compound to the threads before installing. Torque to 20 ft lbs.
Me, I just use OEM plugs and save my money and still get the max performance these engine are capable of.

Good advice- appreciate the comments especially about the length of the thread. I thought about using Iridium so I would not have to do the job again in the next 80 k miles or so. Perhaps I'm being lazy!

I think the AC type 41-940 platinum that came with the van are good for 100k miles or more.
I removed mine for the first time at 135k miles and only 2 of the 6 plugs were out of spec. The reason being on both of them the very small "button" was gone from the electrode end so the gap was widened by the thickness of that button. I assume the button dropped off at some point. The other 4 plugs that still had the button were almost the same gap as the new plugs that I put back in.

I've seen this very same problem several times where the platinum falls off the electrode on these very AC 41-940 platinum plugs. The plugs don't wear out but the platinum falls off the electrode in less than 60k miles. I've so far just put the original types back in, but if I change plugs again I'm going to try to find the equivlent iridium. The plugs are too hard to get to on the V6 engines to have the platinum falling off and having uneven spark plug gaps. I womnder where I can find a cross reference for these plugs for the iridiums?
