What years 2.4 quad 4 can I interchange into my 1998 Grand Am? I have a line on a good 2.4 out of a 2000 Grand Am. Am I looking for too many differences? Any help is greatly appreciated....Gary

Welcome to AF !
I think they're about the same, maybe one of the engine/trans mounts is in a differnt location. :dunno:
Shouldnt be to hard to swap vs a non grand am Quad.

Thanks xeroinfinity.... I did discover one difference on the 2.4s 2000 and up.
The cam sensor is located on the valve cover on the newer engines. Is this sensor different from the one on the older motors? I was wondering if it would just need a rewire job....

The sensor is the same. They just moved the wire harness up front to keep it from getting melted(i think) by the rear exhaust header..

96 and up. most 95s wont work because GM used OBD 1.5 and before 95 was OBD 1. You have OBD 2.

Not sure what you're reffering too, the OP has a 1998 with 2000 motor.
