Cold engine eratic idle
Grand GT

So I have a 2002 Grand am GT 3.4L. When I first start the car the idle is fluctuating from 1000 to 1200rpm. When engine warms up the idle quality gets beter and the engine idle at about 650 rpm fairly steady. No engine light comes on.
I have replaceed the PCV. After doing a thread search i now plan to clean or replace the IAC, clean the TB. Since the warm idle is stable I do not think it is a vacuum leak but i will check for them.
Is there anything else i should be looking for?
Thanks
Ryan

At start up cold with engine idles at 1000-1200 rpms, should be steady.
I would start with cleaning the IAC, should clear this up.
If not, their are a fw other things to check along with intake vacuum leaks.
Clogged air filter, clogged/dirty injectors, bad plugs/wires or other ignition components, leaking EGR or plugged PCV system. And the list goes on.
Hopefully cleaning the IAC will fix your troubles.
And here is a link for the IAC cleaning (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=663849)(second post).
