95 Eagle Talon Esi hesitates on throttling

I have a 95 Eagle Talon Esi 2.0 manual It takes like 3-5 times of turning it over till it starts and then it idles real rough. After it idles for a bit it will stay idling but when you push the gas pedal down it bogs out unless you do it really slow and then it will rev up. I have replaced the fuel filter and checked for air leaks. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

what shape is the engine in?

The engine was well taken care of with regular maintenance but it does have 250k on it

i wonder if compression might be the problem...

ive had some funny things happen in school messing around with compression issues...

Welcome to AF. Have you changed your spark plugs and wires at all recently? If not, do that and make sure they're gapped properly. I would also run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through a tank of gas and see if that helps any too.

A compression test would also help in diagnosing if it's an internal problem, althought right now it doesn't sound like it.

Do you have a check engine light on?

I replaced the ignition coil pack, wires, plugs, TPS sensor, IAC sensor, Camshaft sensor, MAP sensor and the EGR assembly and it still has the same problem. Grrrr........
