'06 Mustang GT on TE37's

Its been alooooong time since I've done any model work, the 1:1 cars have been taking up my time for a year or two now. Before I try and tackle where I left off with my previous projects I decided to give this Mustang a go, to get me back in the groove.

So here we go. The plans are to lower it, put it on some Volk TE37's, scratchbuild a Saleen supercharger, and scratchbuild some kind of lip kit.
So far I have the ride height set where I want it.

On the front I bent the control arms up then the spindles back out wich effectivley lowered it, and it looks realistic too. Still need to cut some coils to lower the rear, its just mocked up right now.

Nice progress, scale production has a nice super charger for the rustang. I think the te37s will look good on it.

Nice start. I will follow the thread with interest! :smokin: I have similar kit.

Back at this one. Started working on an aero idea, inspired by agamo's (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=979472&page=2&highlight=hamann) Ferrari 599 Hamann build.

I started by adding some styrene strips to the inside of the rear bumper. (pic taken after some other work was done)

I outlined the edge of the body onto some masking tape then cut the shape out, out of .040" styrene. I cut 2 out per side and glued them together to make a thicker piece. I then drilled 2 holes through the part and the body and glued short pieces of 3/64" rod to act as locating and mounting pins.

Also spiced up the exhaust a little bit, I think it kind of has a Euro styling feel to it. I used the kit supplied metal tips and the larger tips found in the Revell SVT Focus. Drilled a hole and glued in a locating pin to the muffler.

Obviously need to reshape the opening a bit...

Thats better... well one side anyways.

The aero iece also shaped to fit.

More done to the rear, not sure if its done yet or not. Also made a center piece between the tailights, plan on covering it in carbon.

Thanks for the kind words.

Progress is a little slow as it always is with my builds. I spend more time.. envisioning, if you will, and not much time building. That and I have ideas for about 4 other projects. A big one is turning AMT's horrible '69 Falcon modified stocker into a presentable representaion of what I want my 1:1 '68 Falcon to one day be. They totally butchered their original moldings they had with the original kit way back in the day to re-release this one. I'd love to start with the original, but they usually go for $150-200 on ebay.. no thanks.

Anyways, not much to show on this, haven't gona any farther on the exterior, started on the motor, well getting the main block together and ready for paint, boring.

A little progress on the motor. Valve covers are a satin nickle, misted from a distance to creat a 'wrinkle' finish. Dipstick is a paper clip painted black with a small piece of 3/64" rod with a hole drilled through glued on top. Topped off with a wash of oil paint/turpenoid mix as per the tutorials here. Working on adding fuel rails and an engine harness, and possibly something with the belt/pulley system, its lacking detail.

Valve cover before the wash, block already washed.
