No Gas ?

I have a '93 S-10 Blazer with the 4.3 litre engine. It's been sitting for a little over a year because I've been driving my full sized pickup. I just had to change the starter because it wouldn't turn over anymore, but now it seems it's not getting any fuel. I can spray carb cleaner or ether into the intake and it will run, so I know it fires.

Any chance there is a fuse for the fuel pump that is blown? Clogged filter?

I don't want to drop the tank if I don't have to. I'd like to start with an 'easy' fix before I go tear it apart.

Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Does the fuel pump run when the ignition is turned to the ON, (run) position?

I don't hear anything, but then again I don't even really remember 'hearing' it before. Maybe I just never paid any attention.

You'll need to test your fuel pressure first. This will say alot, and point you into the right direction. You should have around 60 - 63psi with the key on. Try cycling the key once or twice if it is low,and see if it goes up. In the off position watch the gauge. The pressure should hold. If the pressure drops quickly, there may be a leaking fuel injector, a bad fuel pressure regulator, or a bad check valve on the fuel pump. Post back your findings.

I agree, check fuel pressure and leakdown. For 1993 CMFI systems, key on, engine off, pump running, the spec is 55psi to 61psi, and must remain above 50psi for 3 to 5 minutes after the pump shuts off. If you have TBI, (Throttle Body Injection) let us know, the specs are different.
