I have a 2007 Audi A4 that is currently in for service.I was last in for a brake light replacement in (July) and was told that my brakes were below specs. I now understand that brake pads/rotors have a factory required thickness. I was told just a few weeks ago that the spec requirement was 5mm, and at the same time I was told by the same rep that my brake thickness was 2mm.I looked at my 15K service report(5/21/09)that indicated the brake thickness on all wheels was 8mm with 15,170 miles. I now have 17,600 miles on the vehicle.Hmm, could I have been told an untruth? Is it possible to wear down a set of brakes 6mm in two months and 2500 miles? Open to all suggestions. I feel like I might be getting ripped off. The car is under warranty. Thanks

Only way to know 100% is to check it your self. Techs get in a hurry and are not specific , or they flat out lie.
I have seen brakes wear out very fast though.

Well if it's covered by warranty and the tech is willing to submit the claim, I'd just go ahead and get them replaced...
