Need help with AC, 2005 Saturn Relay

The Relay is the sister vehicle to the Montana, and I thought I would post here because this area gets a lot more traffic than over on the Relay page.
The AC system has me stumped. It has good pressure (according to my refigerant adding hose) but I went ahead and put a can of R134 in there, because it never felt really cold. Now, it feels cooler when on the third fan setting, rather than the 4th or 5th. Why would it feel cooler on a lower setting? Everyone I have talked to says there is really nothing to replace it the system is not leaking, but it just won't blow very cold.
Also, when on the max setting, the compressor cycles on and off, and I have been told that it should not cycle on and off when on the max setting. The compressor should stay on all the time.
Can someone help? I have no extra money to get it diagnosed at a shop.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Chris

Did you put a full gauge set on it or just the low-side gauge that is on the re-fill cans? The low side can show good with the high side still low. I would put a real set of gauges on there, you will probably find the system is low.

You could have a blockage and when the compressor kicks in it builds up to much pressure and the pressure switch kicks it off, you can also overcharge a system and it will not be that cold. As far as why best on third setting i have no idea. But if the compressor was running at max and the switches don't tell the compressor to shut off it would blow the system apart from pressure build-up

That is what I have. The low pressure port adding hose.

Sounds like if there is a blockage, then I have no choice but to take it somewhere, have the system evacuated and then refilled.
Does that sound like my only option?

Not the only option, but the best if you don't have the proper guage set to check pressures.
