I'm getting error code 13 on my power sliding door. Can anyone tell me what that means. Door quit completely, but I was able to get it working again by obtaining error code and reinitializing. Now the door works but does not latch fully in the closed position (98% closed, but not 100%).
Before reinitializing the door would close 100%, but then after about 2 seconds would back-off slightly to a slightly "ajar" posiiton (closed, but not fully latched.
I have already cleaned the contacts with sand paper and elect. contact as well as spraying all latches & sensors with WD-40 silicone. All of that seemed to help, but it still reports error code 13. Thanks.

Did you remove the rubber boot and clean the plunger switch in the rear of the sliding door frame? Use only electrical contact cleaner on electrical components.
This switch not only tuns the interior light on and off but also activates the actuator to lock the door shut.
If you cleaned it but doesn't correct the problem, you may have to access the actuator motor and the door cable. The cable adjustments are made in small increments.
Before attempting to adjust the cable ensure the door rollers and track are clean. It doesn't take much to stop the door from closing.
I have NO idea what code #13 is.
You cleaned the plunger contacts on the leading edge of the power sliding door too? Don't be too aggressive using sandpaper on the contacts.

Thanks for your reply! I will do a better job of cleaning the plunger switch tonight. I used electrical contact cleaner on the contacts and silicone spray lubricant on the hinges/latches/rollers/track. Rollers & track are clean and clear.
After lengthy searching I found that code 13 means there's a door position falut. I'n still not sure how to correct that, but may try to reinintialize if your suggestion doesn't work. For any one out there who's looking for more help on the power sliding door diagnostic codes please check the AF post entitled; "2000 Power Sliding Door". It's quite informative. Thanks "Headnsouth"!
Can you please tell me where to find the actuator motor and cable in case I need to get at them? Thanks.

griola,
First: the code #13 'door position fault'. This is what you are (and have been) trying to fix.
Before you start, disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Note: when I had a problem with my sliding door and I disconnected the battery, I found I had to remove and replace the fuse/relay in the fuse box (underhood) to get it to work again.
To remove the cable, you have to remove the retaining clip and tap the locating pin upwards to remove it from the center roller bracket.
Manually close the door and ensure the door is properly aligned. Tight fit into the rear latch?
Once you are satisfied it's aligned right, remove the right rear quarter trim panel. This is where the power door motor is located.
Position the center roller bracket approximately one inch from the front of the guide track.
Looks like way too much to type here, so perhaps you can post back after you have gotten to the point where you can shut the door manually and checked it out.
Let me know if you have the repair manual. For the $20 the book costs, it will be worth it to you as it explains and illustrates the procedure with text and real time pictures.
Pages 11-13, 14 and 15.
The book I have is for the GM vans (Venture, Silhouette, Trans Port and Montana) from 1997 thru 2001. Haynes book # 38036.
Much easier than trying to visualize where things are by my typed guide.

I found that thread and it does contain a lot of good info. I have made it a sticky at the top of the Venture forum for future reference for all members. It can be found here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=886744).
