Stock Brake Question

Hello this may sound odd but I am wondering about the brakes on my 2001 v6 mustang. We just got it a few months ago and one of the first things we notice after the breaks get warmed up is that they squeal horribly they are stopping right and they stop really good actuality fells like they were just changed and they look like it too. I took the tire off on the left from where the noise is coming from and looked at both sides both pads are almost brand new it seems they still have a lot left before they will be any where close for a chirp chirp would go off, if it is even equipped.

I got some break grease and gave each side on both front wheel a good portion and it stopped for a while but after 4 or so days it was right back to busting my ear drums with the windows down. I was thinking about replacing them because I think I might have got a bad pad or something maybe a imperfection in the pad metal or what not but when i took the wheel of to do the grease I noticed the top of the caliper had PBR on it. I expected it to be labeled with tons of ford and motor craft logos. I don't know to much on PBR and there web site only covers new cars that I can tell. I am wondering if the are stock maybe a factory extra or if they are aftermarket and I need to find out what pad I need to get. Thanks for you time and any help anyone can give.

I would look at the hardware make sure the pads are installed correctly. I use a product designed to stop squeal not grease. They have anti rattle rattle clips are these installed.
Otherwise buy original equipment pads.

PBR are the 99-04 Mustang OEM calipers. High mileage low wear compounds can make a car sound like a garbage truck and wear the rotors out prematurely. If it were me I'd replace the pads just because they're cheap enough and it's the best way to make sure they're installed properly.

Thank you that is what I was wanting to know. I do think I am going to replace them when I get the chance because I want to know they work right every time I hit that brake. They sound exactly like what you say and I hope it hasn't already damaged the rotor. Thanks.
