98 civic lx 4 door motor

hey guys so my engine pretty much died and im looking to do a swap although i dont really know first things about it. I wanna keep the car for a while for a put a lot of time in it. What engine would you recommend to put in and around how much would it cost. im trying to get something with a little more power than what i had which is 1.6 non VTEC engine
