95 Cutlass Supreme ODB1 connection

I have a 95 Supreme with the 3.1 engine. Lately the SES light been coming on after driving for awhile. I have the ODB1 connection, but it only has two wires connected to it. There is a black wire in position A and orange wire in position M. I have tried a paper clip connecting these two but the SES or Engine light doesn't flash. Is there another connection? Or do I have to something different?

You need a scanner capable of reading the transitional obd 1.5 electronics.
