Passenger sliding door won't lock open

I have a 2001 Montana, which the passenger side sliding door will not lock in the open position. I don't know if it should, since the other side is power. If the van is parked slightly downhill the door will slide back closed. Is there a latch that should hold the door open and release with the door handle?

On my 2009 Montana van with manual sliding doors, its sliding doors will NOT lock open either. Especially when parked on a slopped hill. To me, the sliding doors (that often contain kids and their wondering arms / fingers) should "lock open" while parked on a hill. Same safety that's on Dodge Caravan van sliding doors. Guess GM found another area to reduce their factory build costs.

No latch, just a small indentation in the track, but it usually isn't efficient.

Your power door is on the driver's side with a manual door on the passenger's?

FWIW, whenever the power slider won't stay open, the cable needs an adjustment.

Yes the power sliding door is on the passenger side and the manual door is on the driver side. You would think they could have put a latch somewhere on the door. Thank you all for helping me.
