1997 dodge grand se caravan codes

i am working on a 1997 gc se with a 3.3 v6 auto the vehicle is stumbling and dieing intermittently the codes i pulled were in order po106 baro out of range po1297 no change in map from start to run po108 map volt to high due to 2 map codes i replaced map sensor then the vehicle ran good for about a hour starting dieing more then before the only code that reset was the po106 baro out of range and it would set as quick as the key was cycled.i tried the links for the repair manual and the 2 i found niether of them worked.so i am please asking for help the map sensor was $100 and did not fix.i dont no were the barometer sensor is or how 2 test.and could that be causing this issue.anyone that could help me solve this issue would be greatly apriciated.thanks

Hi Toycam,
There isnt an actual baro sensor, all of your codes are related to the MAP sensor, the PO106 is also a code indicating a MAP sensor system problem(the PCM didnt see a baro pressure change, signal is from the MAP sensor). Other inexpensive areas to inspect are the connectors for the MAP sensor and the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) and of course the harness itself for chaffing, etc... By changing the sensor you disturbed / moved / re-positioned the connector and wiring and perhaps that is why the car began to run normally for a bit, really look close in that area for corroded female pins or the wires in the plug itself, if all of this is in good shape it is pointing to the PCM. My hunch is you will find the problem in the plug itself, either a dirty or corroded pin socket or a broken wire at the plug, the PCM wouldnt cure itself for an hour then fail again, at least that is pretty unlikely.

hey i want 2 say thanks i found the female side of the connector to the map sensor must of had a loose connection took a pick tool crimped them a little plugged back on and it has not reset any codes and has not missed a beat running great thanks
