:banghead::banghead:I got this grand chorkee and I have a problem with it code p0208 keeps reappering everytime and the truck exhibits driveability problems. the rpm shoots up and down when its cold then heats up to operating temperature and stops. I am going after the injector if any one has received this problem can you give me a hand PLEASE

P0208 is the #8 injector code so that's a good place to start.

do you have any info on what it could be injector or computer cause i heard that the computers have shelf life.

If the truck is running normally once it fully warms up it's not the computer. Since it threw the injector code and it's such a specific code, it's probably the injector or the injectors wire harness. But it sounds like the injector is sticking until the varnish gumming it up warms up to me. If you still have idle problems and it isn't throwing the injector code once the injector is replaced, clean and check the idle air control valve (IAC). That's where I'd start.
The computers have a shelf life in the decades and usually don't go intermittently, they go all at once.

If anyone else has anything to add... now would be a good time.

I'm with TheBobsHere. Sounds like it's just the injector.

Swap the injector out for a known good one, or swap it to the other side of the engine and see if the code moves too.

It's also a good idea to run injector cleaner every 3 oil changes. Just remember to run the injector cleaner a week or so before you do the oil change as some of it will just end up in the oil and contaminate the new oil if done at the same or later time as the oil change.

At that high mileage you should be thinking about a new set of injectors anyway considering they'll pay for themselves in a couple months of driving with better fuel mileage. I've used rebuilt injectors many times with very few problems. So, if you need to save money, it's not like your truck will care where the injectors came from. Just make sure they come with a good warranty.
