I am new here, so I hope this is the right section to post this in. I recently got my license and my mom is giving her car to me (2004 Saturn Vue). I cleaned it pretty thoroughly and I'm still working on, but I have one major problem.
A year or so ago, my dog was riding in the car and saw my dad outside the window. My dog is a little crazy, so he started attacking the car door to get out and play with my dad. This is what happened:

My mom put duck tape over it, so all the silver sticky stuff you see is the adhesive. So basically in parts it is just scratched, in parts the bites are so deep you can see the layers under the plastic.
So, anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this/cover it up? I could just put black duck tape over it, but I would rather have a more permanent solution. Any idea how much it would cost to get the part replaced?

You could start by calling some salvage yards and inquiring as to the price and availability of another door panel. If no one in your area carries one they might be able to locate one in another yard. There is a website, www.car-part.com that is like a locater service that you can search salvage yard inventories across the country by using the search box and entering the make model, and year of the vehicle, and the part you need. That would probably be the most permanent fix available to you.
