88 Bronco II

Just replaced the low and high pressure fuel pumps and was wondering what the black circular canister (plastic?) mounted on the frame rail between the fuel pumps was for. Both fuel lines go through it.

It is your low pressure fuel filter, there is a high pressure in front of your high pressure pump! Don't forget to replace the rubber seal with the canister filter!
