Well I talked to guy tonite about my mystery black shit on the rear of my car. He then calls a guy over and tells him to look at it. Its oil. So he goes back up to the hood opens it tells the other guy to start it after he takes the oil cap off he says. "You have alot of blown by I would bet all four of those rings are blown." I said why? "There shouldnt be oil blowing out of the valve cover."

Blown rings. That's why I'm doing a b20/vtec now. I figured while I was rebuilding I might as well aim higher. Good luck with the rings. Have you done a compression test to see which rings are blown?

No havent done any of that shit. Im just going to drive it until I blow it up. I was planning on a turbo but now I think I am going to wait on that and rebuild with forged pistons and try to beef up the bottom end as much as economically possible. I hopefully can invest about $1500 into the rebuild and turbo project.
The guy that told me it was done for, has a civic with a t-3 turbo and hes running 6 psi.

Sorry someone killed the computer I was on and I could just barley hit the send message button. I rode in that guys cars and it is insanely fast we were doing like 160 in the time it takes me to get up to 100.

Does anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit with pistons connecting rods and rings? Everything minus the crank I dont need one of those. Its a d16a6 with stanard bore.

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com - if you want Honda OEM parts. If you plan to do any boosting etc, then I might recommend some aftermarket stuff, designed to hold the higher loads.

If I blew up a d16a6, and I was planning to rebuild, I would get a ZC (already has 20+ more HP) and rebuild it, and boost to 6 PSI or so.

A junkyard turbo and a rebuilt ZC should run about that $1500 you were talkin' about.
ZC ~ $500
parts to rebuild ~$800 (i used honda/acura oem parts to rebuild my ZC, and without pulling out the receipts, this is my best guess on the cost)
junkyard turbo ~$200?? this might be a little low..I haven't done one of these before...

you could also rebuild it while your a6 is still in the car...so you don't have to have the car off the road ;)

just my $0.02. -

I'm curios as to how he can tell you're getting blow by by removing the cap. Lots of cars spit oil out the filler if you run with it off. The oil is being pumped through the valve train and spit all over the place.

In the old days we used to do things like compression checks.
