By far the best Pads I have found for the GTS are Carbotech. We have twice the rotor life and faster lap times. If you need help getting these please let me know.

not very many, pagid orange, hawk and stock pads. i used to run porsches. i understand the pagid may now only offer yellow. i liked the orange, good wear, consistent pedal pressure and no fade. i am open to suggestions though.

I have tried lots of different pads, Pagid, PF, Hawk. I have been reall impressed with the Carobtech pads for wear, feel and rotor life

are you still using the stock brembo GTS rotors? Which compound of carbotech do you like? I need some more pads so I will try them out. Especially since you said they made you faster and longer life on the rotors. I have never tried anything but the PF that PAD sells. I have a set of Hawk Blues that my race shop says their ALMS viper likes the best but I havnt tried those either.
Do u use the carbotechs front and rear? same compound? You metioned you can help locate them....fill me in please.

I ran the carbotech's and Hawks in my M3, I did like the Carbo's - but since having the Panoz, the PF Pads kick. I really like the grip and the wear is respectable for price paid. I just ordered another set of PF Pads.

I run Carbotech XP12 in the front and XP10 in the rear. I also stock them if you want to get them, let me know. And yea I run the stock Brembo set up, of course the newer rotors ad hats that came out a couple years ago

What is the "twice the rotor life" compared to - which pads? I have used the Carbotech XP12 pad on another car and they are great pads but I would be surprised if they were easier on rotors than the stock PFC Enduro pad. I did not have them on long enough to measure rotor life as I sold the car. I used to think I might like a pad with more initial bite but I am not so sure anymore. I've learned the limit with the PFC Enduro pads and I feel like I can modulate them fine. They require a lot of pedal pressure but I think I might prefer that over a pad that is more delicate. And the wear on them is almost unbelievable. They last forever.

By the way, I was using Carbotech XP12 front and XP10 rear on a 2004 Cobra. That was with the 4 piston "Cobra R" Brembo caliper upgrade on the front. That setup was pretty amazing at stopping that heavy car. I thought it was going to drag the front bumper. If you think that combination has pad and rotor life similar to the stock PFC pad setup it would be pretty compelling to try.

Hey Jim, your FFR is beautiful. I just looked at the pic's from your signature line.

Jim I think you will like it even more than the Cobra, and I am sure the rotors will last longer. Also Carbotech just came out with pre-bedded in brake pads, so you save time at the track and get better usage of the laps you get.

I have also switch to the Carbotech pads. They are great people to work with and are a family of racers. I feel you can go deeper and harder into the turns with little brake fade. Clean the rotors well with scotch pads every time you change pads and you will love them.

The PFC 97s are lasting forever so far... one day years from now when I run through them it'll be PFC 01s or some Carbotech's next. My only big complaint w/ the carbos is that they wear out incredibly fast. On my Z06 I would get one HPDE weekend out of XP12 fonts... they were much easier on the rotors vs. other compounds though. My favorite for C5s are Wilwood Hs... yeah they're tougher on rotos, but they would last 4-5 HPDE weekends in the front and 8-9 rears... nothing else came close.
On the Panoz my one semi-complaint is that the 97 take a strong leg w/ the manual brakes... something w/ more bite might take some of the force needed out.

Thanks. I sold it as a roller a few months ago to a guy in Houston. Now I've got a 351W sitting on my garage floor. :devilsign:

Jim, how many events have you done with the Carbotechs and how are they holding up?

I have nine days on them and they are holding up fine. The Carbotech brakes are a little less money than the Hawks and better quality. I would put the Carbotechs on my GTS car if i did not want to sell it.(two sets of Pagid left for it )

PFC01's best brake compound IMHO hands down, I have run Hawk, pagid, , Ferodo, many flavors of carbotech, they are in Charlotte, NC after-all, so they were quick and convenient.
the PFC97's last FOREVER! I am still using the same set i had on the car when i bought it and there is still tons of pad left!
