The brake light on the dash has come on and cut off the brakes to the rear wheels.I replaced the rear brakes and am unable to get the light off.I beleive the problem is in the combo/propotioning valve. My question is how do I reset it? I don't see a plunger sticking out of the unit to push in.

4W ABS brakes?
If so you need a ABS capable scanner to get codes or bleed ABS unit.
Post back code no.
Did you open hyd. system or let air get in there?

no abs light on just brake light
Always adjust up new shoes.
Make sure emg brake switch and low fluid level light is not turning on the red brake light.
Also you might try unpluging and pluging back up ABS module to clear light.
If not get a scanner on it and check codes.
Post back any codes.
Let us know how it goes.

the fluid is \was up and I have tried unpluging the abs it turns the light off when uplugged but back on as soon as you plug it in. I also unhooked battery for 30 min no luck with that either.

MT, if you don't mine. I'd like to add my 2 cents. I hand the same trouble on my 97. I found that the Emergency Brake release switch wasn't making contact when the brakes was released. Replaced the switch and brake light was fixed. Just a thought. Good Luck.

Good Idea Gabe.
If emg brake switch is working right it will brighten the red brake light when pedqal is pressed.
You are welcome any time to add info.
Two heads are better than one.
